Skyline R-II Board Meeting

July 19, 2017

 

The Skyline R-II Board meeting met in regular session on Wednesday July 19, 2017 with 5 members present.  The consent agenda items consisting of Board minutes, bills and financial statement were presented and approved. 

In old business:  Skyline was able to purchase one used bus from Mansfield School.  The Board would still like to look for another one or two used buses. The discipline policy was tabled for further consideration.  Moffett Tree Service finished trimming the trees in the front of the school building.

In new business:  The Board set the date for the Tax Rate Hearing for August 16, 2017 at 6:45 p.m.  The Annual Secretary of the Board Report (ASBR) was presented and approved with any changes recommended by the auditor.  Bids were sent out for bread, milk, diesel, and propane.  Bids were accepted for milk from Hiland Dairy and propane from MS Propane.  The Board adopted the eligibility criteria for free and reduced milk price meals.  The Board reviewed the Teacher and Student Handbooks.  Both were approved with the changes recommended.  The Technology User Agreement, School-Parent-Student Compact, Locker Acknowledgement, and Bullying policy will be added to the student handbook.    The Board approved installing new carpet in the Resource Room, preschool room, and offices.  The Board extended Courtney Davaultís contract to full time to teach Middle School math and science. 

In the Superintendentís Report:  Enrollment for Summer School was 53 students with a 95% attendance rate.  Skyline will be having a CSIP and Federal Programs meeting on August 10, 2017 at 2:00.  Open House is set for Tuesday August 15, 2017 with the first day of school Thursday, August 17, 2017.  The next regular scheduled Board meeting is August 16, 2017.
